Jack is a lifelong artist based in Beverly, Massachusetts, whose creative journey began in Newton and unfolded through Melrose and Everett. A graduate of the Vesper George School of Art, Jack’s early passion for drawing—especially copying Marvel superhero comics—laid the foundation for a career that blends illustration, painting, and storytelling.
After art school, Jack worked as a colorist at Snyder Leather and as an illustrator for The Lodge in Harvard Square, where he brought animals and people to life through expressive renderings of their clothing. When the art market slowed, he pivoted to drafting and eventually mechanical engineering, earning credentials at Northeastern while designing and modeling with CAD software. Throughout his engineering career, Jack never stopped drawing, keeping his artistic spirit alive.
Now retired from Raytheon, Jack has returned to art full-time, selling prints at local breweries and creating works inspired by everyday life and sports. His style is shaped by a love for artists like Jack Kirby, Pino Daeni, Patrick Nagel, Norman Rockwell, Edward Hopper, and Leroy Neiman. He primarily paints in acrylics and has recently embraced watercolor pencils for their versatility and charm.
Jack’s work includes a published book cover for Ambiguous Clarity, a project dear to him through his late father-in-law. He’s also created countless pieces for family and friends, always driven by a deep love for visual storytelling and human connection.
Jack is also an avid golfer and lover of sports who finally just got his first hole in one.
He also helped coached a special olympic softball team in Melrose for over 20 years.
