Maya Jacob

I have been sketching since I was a little girl and am continuing to do so. Drawing and painting are an integral part of my life. Graphic arts was my entry into a long career in advertising. graphite drawing, watercolor and acrylics are my preferred mediums.

The art instructors who have encouraged and influenced me are V. S. Haldankar, Bill Velmure, Bill Commerford, Bill Devaney, Steve Greco and Maureen Albano.

I am a long-time member of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Lynnfield Art Guild.

For those who do know me and for those who do not, I am a people person; hence you will see a lot of them in my paintings. I am nostalgic and like to capture scenes from India, which most are from photographs my husband and I have taken over the years. Color is my muse.

I am originally from India, my husband and I came to the US via London, England and Toronto, Canada. We arrived in Wakefield, MA in 1971. We are the parents of three children and five grandchildren.

Some of my paintings are for sale. If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected]
