Joyce was always drawing and scribbling from the time she was a pre-schooler but paper, as well as crayons, chalk & pencils were very scarce during WWII. Over the years, she always had the desire to paint, thinking she could draw for an advertising company or even design houses. As a result, she majored in art in college (Colorado Women’s College, Colorado University with summer courses at Denver University).
As life would have it, she was offered an opportunity to become an interior designer and JF Designs was born. She soon became certified and was a member of IIDA (International Interior Designers’ Assn.) and was able to work on residential and commercial projects coast to coast for 40 years.
She is currently a member of the Lynnfield Art Guild and enjoys creating with the brush under the tutelage of Bill Deveney and the rest of her “paint family” at the Lynnfield Senior Center.
