Bill Deveney

I’m a lifelong Lynn resident who has been retired from GE for about 11 years.  While at GE, I was an apprentice course graduate and later I held a number of positions including toolmaker, drafting, and tool design.

I was always interested in art, so upon retiring, I thought I’d take it up.  I had the very good fortune to meet Pauline Bacon who became my teacher and mentor.  When she passed away, I took over her Lynn and Lynnfield art classes.  For me, teaching has been a great experience.  I’ve met so many wonderful people along the way, and truthfully, I’ve learned a lot more from them than they have from me.

I get my inspiration from the places I’ve travelled and from living in New England.  I paint almost exclusively in watercolor in formats that aren’t too large. I sell my work at various shows and at the Tides Restaurant in Nahant.
