Entertaining and Educational Demo last night – Jeff Fioravanti started with a rough sketch of a seascape with dark pastels and describes it to two members (1). After adding more darks for broad area blocking (2), Jeff blended using an alcohol wash (3). Jeff then added more pastels defining elements. See reference photo on Jeff’s pad and painting at the break (4). Next, Jeff added more detail with pastels working dark to light (5). He finished with a bit of tooth-brush splattered wave spray (see detailed) (5), leading to a wonderful, near finished image (6). Thanks Jeff for the inspiration and great stories.
